Effective
1. Scope of this policy
This policy explains how SYNC Technology ("SYNC", "we", "us") handles personal information collected through this website and through SYNC-enabled experiences that link to it.
Where SYNC technology is embedded in another company's app or property, that company is generally the controller of the data collected there, under its own privacy notice and consent flows. SYNC acts as a technology provider and, depending on the arrangement, as a processor or joint controller. Check the notice of the app you are using.
Financial services — deposit accounts, cards, money transmission, and fiat-to-digital-asset conversion — are provided by regulated third parties where applicable. Those providers handle personal information under their own privacy notices and legal obligations.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details you submit through this site: name, email address, and optionally company and phone number.
- The content of your enquiry and the request type you select.
- Any information you choose to include in correspondence with us.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs relating to requests to this site, including IP address, user agent, and timestamps, used for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting.
- Basic delivery diagnostics needed to operate and secure the site.
SYNC Signal event data
Where you have opted in within a SYNC-enabled app or property, a signal detection may generate an event record. Depending on the campaign configuration and the permissions you have granted, that record may include a campaign identifier, a Signal Tag identifier, a timestamp, the channel, coarse location, device and app context, and your consent state.
Financial and transaction data
Where you use SYNC-enabled payment features, records relating to financial intent and settlement may be created — amount, asset and rail, recipient or merchant, quote, fee, authentication level, provider reference, blockchain signature or bank trace, status, and reversals. Identity verification data required for regulated services is collected and held by the relevant regulated provider.
3. SYNC Signal detection and microphone access
SYNC Signal detection listens only for designated engineered signal sequences. It is not designed to record conversations, identify spoken words, or transmit ambient audio.
- Detection requires affirmative opt-in before any signal detection or microphone-related processing begins.
- Permission can be withdrawn at any time, through your device settings or the controls in the app you are using.
- Separate consent is sought for financial services, marketing, geolocation, biometrics, and cross-context data uses where required.
- Where detection is enabled, audio is analysed on the device for the presence of designated sequences. What is reported is the resulting event, not the audio.
The live demonstration on this site runs entirely in your browser and requires you to start it explicitly. Your browser will ask for microphone permission before anything begins, and you can stop it at any point.
4. How we use information
- To respond to enquiries you send us and to provide the information or demonstration you asked for.
- To operate, secure, and improve this website, including preventing abuse of the contact form.
- To deliver SYNC-enabled experiences you have opted into — resolving a detection into an eligible activation, offer, or reward.
- To process, confirm, and reconcile transactions you authorise, and to maintain an accurate ledger.
- To produce campaign measurement and reporting linking consented exposure to activation and outcome.
- To meet legal, regulatory, audit, financial-crime, and record-keeping obligations.
We apply purpose limitation: information collected for one of these purposes is not repurposed for an unrelated one without a lawful basis and, where required, your consent.
6. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as required by law. Retention periods are bounded and set per data category rather than applied as a single blanket rule. Exposure and activation events are subject to retention limits and frequency controls; financial and compliance records are held for the periods applicable regulation requires.
Contact enquiries submitted through this site are retained for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the correspondence, then deleted or de-identified.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out on that basis.
- Withdraw signal-detection permission at any time through your device or in-app settings.
- Opt out of marketing communications using the unsubscribe control in any marketing message.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
- Ask us how a particular category of information is used and who it is shared with.
To exercise a right, contact us using the details in section 12. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will tell you if a legal obligation prevents us from fulfilling a request.
8. Security
- Private keys for non-custodial wallets are generated and retained on the user device. SYNC does not hold them.
- Recovery material is encrypted on the client before backup; no plaintext recovery phrase is transmitted.
- Access is role-based and least-privilege, with separation between operational, treasury, banking, and administrative credentials.
- Sensitive actions require elevated authentication, and security events are recorded in an immutable trail.
- Encryption in transit, pseudonymous identifiers, vendor controls, and privacy impact assessments are applied to personal data.
No system is perfectly secure. These controls reduce risk; they do not eliminate it, and no technical design is automatically compliant with any particular law.
9. International transfers
We may process information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where required, we use an appropriate transfer mechanism and apply safeguards so the information remains protected to the standard of the originating jurisdiction.
10. Children
This website and SYNC-enabled financial features are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product, our partners, or applicable law change. We will revise the effective date above, and where a change materially affects how we handle your information we will provide a more prominent notice and, where required, seek fresh consent.
12. Contact us
For privacy questions or to exercise a right, email us or write to us using the contact details on this site. We aim to respond within one business day and within any period applicable law requires.
